Haven Is closed to new rabbit admissions from the public

The Rabbit Haven usually accepts from both the community and shelters.   However, The Rabbit Haven is full at this time.  We are only able to accept rabbits from municipal shelters at this time.

One exception:  Any rabbit adopted from The Rabbit Haven will be accepted back into our program.  By contract,  a Haven rabbit may only be returned to us and not to any shelter or third party.

Large scale rescue carried out by animal control

Large scale rescue:  The County of Santa Clara Animal services (San Martin) rescued 90 rabbits from a tent city in Morgan Hill on 5-11-2021.  9 of the rabbits were sent over to the San Jose shelter. All the rest are at CSCAS- Haven is helping

Kudos to the CACAS  animal control & shelter at San Martin and the San Jose animal care and control for rescuing these neglected rabbits and for being the triage center for all of them.

Biddeford has abdominal mass - Needs surgery.

Biddeford and Beatrix are a tiny sweet dwarf pair – One day Biddeford stopped eating and was raced to hospital for urgent care – There vets found he has a huge mass that needs to be removed- he is not eating so requires daily critical care – the vets are doing all they can to get him strong enough for his surgery. The mass is so large it is preventing normal intake or output . Poor Biddeford. He has been in hospital for three days now and they are doing all they can to stabilize him so hi surgery will be successful – Scary times for Biddeford.
